Common questions

Will this pass a strict PDF/A validator?

Not always, and we tell you why. We add the conformance metadata, colour profile and structure, and remove what PDF/A forbids — but a browser cannot embed fonts that were missing from the original or flatten transparency. Anything we could not guarantee is listed after conversion.

What is PDF/A for?

It is the ISO format used when a document has to stay readable for decades — court filings, statutory records and long-term company archives.

Which conformance level is used?

PDF/A-2b, which covers visual reproducibility and is the level most archives ask for.

Are my files uploaded anywhere?

This tool runs entirely inside your browser. Your file is never uploaded to a server, so nothing leaves your device.
